AI skills in the UK

AI is at work. The skills have to catch up.

The UK Government aims to give 10 million workers AI skills by 2030, through its AI Skills Boost programme with industry. No UK law sets an AI training duty for employers, so the standard is yours to set.

This is where AI Upskill helps. Every member of staff trained to the same standard, with the certificates and sponsor reports that show it.

Trading with the EU?

Who

UK organisations that place AI systems on the EU market, or whose AI output is used in the EU, fall under the EU AI Act.

What

Article 4 asks providers and deployers of AI to take measures that support the AI literacy of their staff and anyone operating AI for them, fitted to their knowledge and the setting.

When

The duty took effect on 2 February 2025 and was updated on 27 July 2026.

Proof

An AIL cert (AI Level certified) for each learner at each level, and a sponsor report of completion and scores you can keep on file.
